My work is derived from the unconscious: those uncaptured moments and glimpses between the concrete and the abstract. I am primarily focused on the process versus the final outcome. This enables me to explore and achieve a fresh spontaneity and to examine the magnitude of one’s internal and external being. There is a genuine awareness that transpires from this deeply unconscious state.

Hillary Gruenberg was born in Providence, Rhode Island. She was mentored by Tom Wudl. She currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
